1 Thessalonians 1:1–10 | October 18, 2026

Can people see our faith without hearing us say we are Christians?
Writing to the Thessalonians, Paul celebrates their “work produced by faith, labor prompted by love, and endurance inspired by hope” (1 Thessalonians 1:3). Their faith was not merely something they believed. It was something people could see.
Paul declares, “Your faith in God has become known everywhere” (verse 8).
Abraham: Faith That Takes Action
When God called Abraham to leave his homeland for an unknown destination, Abraham obeyed. He did not demand a map or guarantees. “By faith Abraham obeyed when he was called to set out” (Hebrews 11:8).
Abraham’s faith became visible through his response to God’s call. He trusted God enough to act, even without knowing what lay ahead.
Faith is not simply believing that God can act. It is trusting God enough to take the next faithful step.

When Faith Walks Beyond Worship
Every Sunday, we gather to worship, pray, and hear God’s Word. But what happens when worship ends? We carry our faith into our homes, workplaces, schools, and communities. Yet faith can travel with us and still remain invisible.
It becomes visible when we forgive, serve someone in need, welcome a stranger, share Christ’s love, or offer hope to someone who has lost it.

Faith works. Love serves. Hope keeps going.
