Congregational Care
As the name suggests, this committee offers care to the congregation as well as to friends of Advent through various activities, such as after worship fellowship – a light repast to enjoy while conversing with one another before we head home to face another week of work/school/volunteer work, etc.
The committee also organizes meals for those who are shut in. They send cards to each member on special occasions. Individuals offer rides to those who need them to attend worship. And they plan receptions for special events such as graduations.
That, of course, means they’re in charge of supplies in the kitchen!
Ways to Serve in Congregational Care

Serving One Another in Love
The work of congregational care is often expressed in quiet, meaningful ways. As one member serves another, Advent’s ministry of care is revealed, nurturing relationships, fostering belonging, and embodying God’s love within the life of the congregation

Celebrating Milestones Together
Congregational care at Advent extends beyond times of need—it also embraces moments of joy. By celebrating the graduation of one of our members, the church lives out its commitment to walk alongside one another, honoring achievements and giving thanks for God’s guidance in every season of life
