Faith grows stronger when our lives and roots are connected.

There was laughter around the tables, conversation across generations, hands busy with activities, and plenty of colorful scarves to go around. Rally Day at Advent Lutheran Church was more than an annual gathering—it became a living picture of what it means to be interwoven.

This year’s Rally Day centered on the theme of being interwoven with one another through faith, family, church, and community. Through conversation, music, creative activities, food, and fellowship, participants of different ages shared stories and discovered more about one another.

Sandy Conklin brought the theme to life through an engaging presentation and crossword activity. She invited participants to consider the remarkable giant sequoia trees. These enormous trees can rise to extraordinary heights, yet their root systems gain strength through connection with the roots of neighboring trees. Their strength is not found simply in standing alone, but in being connected.

The photographs tell the rest of the story: people gathered around tables talking and listening; younger and older generations participating together; smiles emerging during activities; and a room alive with learning and fellowship. Rally Day reminded us that Christian community is built in much the same way—our lives become stronger when they are woven together.

As Advent looks toward another year of ministry, Rally Day offered a simple but powerful reminder: we grow in faith together, we serve together, and together our roots reach deeper.
