2026 Palm Sunday Reflection
Rev Dr Jasson Kalugendo, Pastor at Advent Lutheran Church, Lagrange
A Turning Point in the Story
Palm Sunday brought us to a turning point. The crowd welcomed Jesus with praise—voices lifted, branches waving, hope alive. Yet even in that moment of celebration, the shadow of the cross was already near. It was a moment filled with tension: celebration on the surface but suffering ahead.
When Life Feels “In Between”
This moment speaks deeply into our own lives. There are seasons when we find ourselves in similar spaces—not fully broken, yet not fully whole. We stand between what was and what will be. Moments when:
- expectations begin to shift
- prayers are still waiting
- the path ahead feels unclear
These are the in-between places—where we do not yet see the outcome, but we are still called to trust.
God Is Still Working
Palm Sunday reminds us that even at the beginning of the Passion, when everything was about to change, one truth remained: God was still working. Working through human weakness. Working through uncertainty. Working in ways not yet fully seen. Even when the path ahead was unclear, God’s purpose was already unfolding.
Walking with Christ This Week
This is the invitation of Holy Week—not to rush ahead, but to walk with Christ. To stay present. To remain faithful. To trust even when we cannot yet see. Faith is not about having all the answers. It is about walking with God through the unknown.
A Word for This Week
As we journey through this week, we hold onto this truth: What began with praise… was already moving toward redemption.
Reflection Question: Where in your life are you standing “in between”—and how might God still be working there, even if you cannot yet see it?
