Congregational Care

As the name suggests, this committee offers care to the congregation as well as to friends of Advent through various activities, such as after worship fellowship – a light repast to enjoy while conversing with one another before we head home to face another week of work/school/volunteer work, etc.

The committee also organizes meals for those who are shut in.  They send cards to each member on special occasions.  Individuals offer rides to those who need them to attend worship.  And they plan receptions for special events such as graduations.

That, of course, means they’re in charge of supplies in the kitchen!

Ways to Serve in Congregational Care

Nurturing Faith in Young Hearts

Children engaged in creative activities that helped them explore and express the story of God’s love. Through play, imagination, and guided learning, faith is introduced in ways that are both meaningful and memorable. These moments lay a foundation for lifelong spiritual growth

Learning the Story of Faith

Young members participated in a hands-on retelling of the Nativity story, stepping into the roles of shepherds and witnesses to Christ’s birth. Through participation and storytelling, they connected personally with the message of the Gospel. This shared experience brings Scripture to life in a tangible way

Teaching with Care and Presence

During a children’s message, young learners were invited into conversation, reflection, and discovery. In a welcoming and engaging setting, they were encouraged to ask questions and grow in understanding. These moments foster a sense of belonging and spiritual curiosity.

Gathering at the Table of Grace

The congregation gathers around the altar, where Word and Sacrament become central to the life of faith. This sacred space invites reflection, renewal, and connection with God. Here, the community is nourished spiritually and sent forth in service

Worshiping Together as One Body

In worship, the congregation lifts prayers, praise, and thanksgiving as a unified community of faith. These shared moments strengthen spiritual life and deepen connection with God and one another. Worship becomes the heartbeat of congregational care.

Building Community Around the Table

Members gathered to share a meal, conversation, and companionship in a spirit of fellowship. These moments create space for relationships to grow and for care to be expressed in simple, meaningful ways. Around the table, the church becomes a true community.

Celebrating Life’s Milestones Together

The congregation came together to honor and celebrate the achievements of its members. Recognizing these important milestones reflects the church’s commitment to walking alongside individuals in every stage of life. Joy is multiplied when it is shared in community.

Living Life Together in Faith

Members gathered for conversation, connection, and shared experiences that strengthen the bonds of community. These gatherings provide space for encouragement, support, and mutual care. Through fellowship, faith is lived out in everyday relationships.

Presence in Ministry

Moments of connection between pastor and members reflect the heart of congregational care—being present, listening, and walking alongside one another in faith. Through these relationships, spiritual support becomes personal and meaningful. Care is expressed through presence.

Walking the Journey of Christ Together

The congregation reflected on the journey of Christ through the Stations of the Cross, engaging both mind and spirit in a shared experience of faith. This practice invites deeper understanding, prayer, and reflection. Together, the community walks the story of redemption.
